چکیده

Abstract. Flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD) has been demonstrated to be a useful, non-invasive tool for the detection of endothelial dysfunction in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, leading cause mortality end-stage kidney disease. The Fas/Fas ligand system apoptosis resulting from activation caspase cascade- contributes pathophysiology atherosclerosis. This ‘apoptotic’ plays central role immune homeostasis. Vascular cells and inflammatory are main resources Fas ligand. In this study, we aimed investigate soluble (sFasL) as marker FMD peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients.
Methods. A total 43 patients undergoing maintenance PD 40 healthy donors were enrolled cross-sectional observational study. Demographics, anthropometric measurements clinical examinations obtained. Endothelial function was evaluated by brachial artery with high-resolution ultrasonography. Serum sFasL concentrations measured an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit.
 Results. partisipants devited on 2 groups: who had treated at least 12 weeks (group 1; mean age 41±14 years, M/F: 22/21) gender matched controls 2; 50±12 19/20). forearm serum levels significantly lower (3.95±2.01 vs 8.83 ± 6.17; p<0.001 54 24 73 30; p=0.001). Forearm correlated (r=0.289; p=0.008), age, BMI uric acid (r= 0,32; p=0.003, respectively), hemoglobin 0,293; p=0.007), calcium 0,26; p=0.016), phosphate (r=- 0,250; p=0.023), magnesium 0,255; p=0.020), h SBP 0,257; p=0.019), creatinine iPTH 0.50 r=- 0,45; p<0.001, respectively). After adjustment stepwise multivariate analysis showed independently associated (β: 0.180; p=0.03, CI: 0.078-0.314). p=0.001).
Conclusions. may used simple screening patients.

Aqueous Humor Levels of Soluble Fas and Fas-ligand in Patients with Primary Open Angle and Pseudoex-foliation Glaucoma

Background: Glaucoma is one of the most common causes of blindness and is usually associated with elevated intraocular pressure. In patients with primary open angle glau-coma the number of trabecular meshwork cells is decreased. Death of the trabecular meshwork cells may be a result of apoptosis. Objective: To investigate the aqueous humor levels of soluble Fas (sFas) and Fas-Ligand (sFasL) in ...

Plasma ghrelin levels in patients undergoing haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

BACKGROUND Ghrelin has been characterized as a relevant physiologic regulator of appetite and body weight in humans. However, the potential relationships between ghrelin levels, inflammation and malnutrition in dialysis patients have not been adequately studied. METHODS We used a cross-sectional design to study 20 haemodialysis (HD) and 21 peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, and compared their...

Association between serum magnesium levels with lipids profile in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis

Introduction Renal replacement therapy is a general term applied for several techniques which are used in the treatment of patients with end-stage renal failure. It includes different methods such as hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and renal allograft transplantation (1,2). The efficacy of peritoneal dialysis as a method of renal replacement therapy has been proven. The purpose of dialysis i...

Serum levels of soluble Fas in patients with Graves' ophthalmopathy.

AIM To assess levels of soluble Fas (sFas) in the sera of patients with Graves' ophthalmopathy. METHODS The subjects in this study were 43 patients with Graves' ophthalmopathy and 11 normal subjects. Serum levels of sFas were determined by sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. In addition, serum levels of thyroid stimulating antibody (TSAB) were also measured in all the patients. RESU...

Serum irisin levels correlated to peritoneal dialysis adequacy in nondiabetic peritoneal dialysis patients

BACKGROUND Irisin is a recently discovered myokine thought to be involved in multiple metabolism abnormalities in most dialysis patients. However, the myokine has not been thoroughly studied in peritoneal dialysis. This study aimed to evaluate serum irisin levels and establish their relation to dialysis adequacy, insulin resistance, and bone metabolism status in patients on peritoneal dialysis....
